Bean Boots

Bean Boot KeyChain

I found the most exciting thing today…a Bean Boot Key Chain!  Can we talk about how incredibly cute it is??

Baby bean boots!! TOO CUTE

via bellesbourbonsandbowties, because I like her picture better than mine 🙂

Yesterday I stopped in a thrift store and saw it sitting on a table and instantly freaked out.  It has little tiny laces and it even has the same logos written in the same places on the boot.  I probably won’t use it as an actual key chain because I think it is way too cute for that.  I will more than likely use it as a decoration on my desk at home or put it somewhere in my apartment.  Any suggestions for what I should do with it??

Happy Labor Day

Happy Labor Day!

Gone are the days of white pants and seersucker and coming are the crisp fall mornings, pumpkin spice everything and cinnamon accents all across town.  I love fall!  I tend to miss the mountains as fall approaches because the Piedmont doesn’t have such drastic and apparent season changes!  This weekend, we made some Pumpkin Spice Pancakes with Vanilla Spice Syrup…PERFECT way to begin the “fall.”  I bought the pumpkin spice pancake mix at the Farmer’s Market a few weeks ago and have just been letting it sit in my pantry until the time came to make it!

Now that I can finally, acceptably, celebrate the beginnings of fall things I am so excited!  Here are some of my favorite things of fall!

1.  Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL)

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Number one on the list, and with good reason.  Starbucks PSLs are such a huge staple in my fall repertoire.  I allot calories in the day just for this.  Extra whipped cream and a little cinnamon on top make this the perfect sweet tooth fix for fall.

2.  Duck Boots

LOVE my Duck Boots

Hallelujah, it is Duck Boot Season again.  Well, almost.  These shoes are seriously the most comfortable shoes ever.  They are super warm and totally durable.  If you don’t have a pair, you should definitely order one before winter comes.  Seriously.

3.  Scarves

BFF Jennie

My best friend has so many cute infiniti scarves and I love to see how she wears all of them.  To me, it isn’t fall unless you’ve got on a pair of boots a scarf and a drink in your hand.

4.  Pumpkin Bread

When I was younger I made so much pumpkin bread one fall that we had to wait a couple of years before we could fully enjoy it again.  We definitely indulged and got a little tired of it, but it is back with a vengeance!

5.  Football

BFFs dress alike. Especially to tailgates.

Tailgates are my favorite part of football season: you get to dress up, hang out with friends and feel the comradry of sharing a mutual love of a team.  Seriously the best.  I can’t wait to go back to Boone to celebrate my Alma Mater 🙂

6.  Leaves

View from my parent’s mountain house ❤

The mountains of North Carolina seriously have the best display of leaves.  The colors are so rich and crisp, accompanied with the weather, it’s hard not to feel like you’re falling for fall.

7.  Corduroy

I love my cords.  They are warm and comfortable and come in so many different colors.  Plus, they are often more comfortable than jeans, which is always a plus.

8.  Cow Boy Boots

Football, weekend outing, jeans, dress, skirt, etc.  They are perfect for just about any occasion, and the best part is, you don’t have to worry about messing them up, because the more worn in they are the better they look!

9.  Pumpkin Patching

Every year, my family goes to a pumpkin patch to pick out our perfect pumpkin.  Then we each take our choice home and carve it and roast the seeds.  There is nothing like the smell of a fresh cut pumpkin!

10.  Halloween

Any excuse I have to get dressed up is good enough for me.

What are some fall traditions you are looking forward to?

Active Style

I love being outside, but I tend to get frustrated when I’m trying to decide what to wear.  I know that I will, inevitably, end up taking pictures and I don’t want to look like a hot mess in my old t-shirt and running shorts.  I’m envious of all the Pinterest pictures of women dressed in their afternoon best to go for a hike.  I’m sorry, but that just isn’t real life for me…I don’t really want to ruin my favorite blouse, so what is the happy medium?  I have a few ideas for how ways to look great while being active, without sacrificing your favorite clothes!

1.  Scarves

As we all know, a scarf can dress up any outfit.  Luckily, you can find a lot of scarves for next to nothing and they are the perfect way to jazz up your outdoor gear.  If it’s raining, then it is a perfect accessory to that raincoat!

2.  PFG

This one is kind of a “duh!” PFG is made to be worn outdoors, and sorority women have been making it their own by monogramming it.  I am obsessed with mine.  It’s perfect as a bathing suit coverup but is also a great top for when I’m wanting to do basically anything outside, especially when it involved water!

3.  Designated “Outdoor Wear”

I have a few pieces of clothing I have designated as my “outside clothes”.  Most of them were found at goodwill or are things I’ve had for a while, so I don’t mind messing them up, but they are still cute.  I have fleece pullovers, tights, vests, flannels and jeans!  Basically  anything I think would be fun and look cute in pictures.

4.  Bean Boots

Most girls wear Bean boots for fashionable purposes, but they are really multi-functional.  You can get them completely muddy and they wash right off and look perfect again.  Why not wear them hiking one day and then around town the next?  That’s the whole point of L.L. Bean, right?

5.  Five Fingers

These are the weirdest, most wonderful shoes ever.  They feel super weird at first but as your feet get used to them they are perfect and they add a super fun little touch to any outdoor getup!
